Idioms

Idioms.  Idioms are sayings we use frequently.  We use them to explain what we are saying or to make what we are saying more interesting. However, we don’t mean literally what we are saying.

1.to show cleam pair of  heels
2.to strike while the iron is Hot
3.to show the white feather
4.to make the bull by the horns
5.to make a mountain out of a molehill
6.to give someone the cold shoulder
7.to be a dog in the manger
8.to throw cold water on something
9.to have a bone to pick with someone

  1. To have a bee in one’s bonnet.
  2. To flog a dead horse.
  3. To sit on the fence.
  4. To make both ends meet.
  5. To paddle one’s own canoe.
  6. To live from hand to mouth.
  7. To bite the dust.
  8. To burn the candle on both ends.
  9. To take forty winks.
